The Centre is managed by Knysna Child Welfare and accommodates 45 children who are either orphaned or abused and neglected. We aim for a turnover in children as we endeavor to place them back with their parents or with foster parents. Where possible intensive family re-unification services are rendered.

As well as supplying the basic care and physical needs of the child, assessment and therapeutic programmes are undertaken with all the children along with developmental and skills training for the older children. The costs of running and equipping this home which has a staff of 7 child care workers is onerous as you can imagine.
